Amy Corinne Smith, a Managing Director at Jefferies & Company, is Head of the Firm’s Global CleanTech Investment Banking group, a team of fully dedicated CleanTech bankers globally, representing the largest fully dedicated CleanTech banking team on Wall Street.  This banking team is complemented by the largest fully dedicated CleanTech equity research team on Wall Street.  Ms. Smith is responsible for continuing to build a global CleanTech platform at the Firm across all CleanTech sub-sectors and geographies.  Ms. Smith joined Jefferies in June 2010; prior to this, Ms. Smith was Co-Head of Barclays Capital’s Alternative Energy effort; and prior to that held a similar title at Lehman Brothers, where she worked since 1997 and wrote that firm’s business plan around its global alternative energy banking business in 2007.  Ms. Smith has been a fully dedicated CleanTech banker since 2003, one of the longest tenured on Wall Street.  Ms. Smith splits her time mainly between the United States and China, and she focuses on all areas of the CleanTech landscape including solar, industrial biotech / green chemicals, smart grid, energy storage / electric transport, wind, water, lighting and other areas.
 
To date, Ms. Smith has served as a lead advisor on over $50 billion of transactions, including over 25 deals in a bookrun / lead / sole managed capacity for CleanTech companies in the U.S., Europe and Asia spanning capital raising, M&A;, foreign exchange hedging, project finance, private placements, utility advisory and others.  In addition to her client coverage responsibilities, Ms. Smith is an Advisory Board Member of the Clean Technology & Sustainable Industries Associate (CTSI) and has participated as a keynote speaker at industry conferences including the Asia America Technology Association, Department of Energy executive forum, Standard & Poor’s global alternative roundtable discussion, and many other global events.  Ms. Smith graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
