Laura Lovelace is a co-founder and President of Wellford Energy Advisors, a Washington D.C. based consulting firm that works exclusively in the cleantech and alternative energy sectors.  Ms. Lovelace has represented a variety of clients ranging from clean energy technology start-ups to large projects and has worked with some of the world’s premier venture capital firms.

Ms. Lovelace has combined her expertise in the financial sector and government affairs to help clients obtain non-dilutive funding and prosper in a highly regulated and uncertain political and legislative environment.  She works at the nexus of Congress, the White House, Federal Agencies—such as the Department of Energy—Wall Street and Silicon Valley.

Prior to her consulting career, Ms. Lovelace served in the White House Office of Policy Development and the United States Department of the Treasury where she focused on domestic and economic policy.  Her private sector experience includes nearly seven years on Wall Street in the areas of institutional sales, trading and capital markets, most recently with Goldman Sachs in their New York office.

Ms. Lovelace remains a staunch advocate for the development and commercialization of clean energy technologies. As such, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the Clean Economy Network. Ms. Lovelace is also an Advisor to the Conrad Foundation which enables students to innovate in the areas of science and technology.

She holds a degree in government from Dartmouth College and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Tuck School at Dartmouth.
