Tim Derrick co-founded Axio Power in 2007 as a solar development company focused on utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects. Prior to starting Axio, Tim was Director of Solar Development at 3 Phase Energy Services from 2005 to 2007 where he led the development of 6 MW of rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV projects. Tim started his career in renewable energy in 2001 at Enron Wind Corp. and GE Wind Energy where he held leadership roles in development, finance, turbine sales, and six sigma quality through 2005. Prior to working in energy, Tim served as a Captain in the U.S. Army and a US Olympic Team coach. He holds an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. He is a regular public speaker on the topics of renewable energy project development and financing.

Axio Power is a privately held company which develops solar PV projects across the U.S. and Canada. It has grown a pipeline of projects by applying its knowledge of development, utility-scale power markets, and solar PV technology. Axio has also acquired two companies, Greenlight Sunstream in Ontario, Canada, and the solar assets of BQ Energy, a renewable energy developer based in New York State. In April 2010, Axio was awarded feed-in-tariff contracts for 90 MW of ground-mounted solar projects in Ontario, Canada.
