Dave Belote |
Dave Belote, Vice President for Federal Business at Apex Wind Energy, is responsible for the origination and development of projects dedicated to satisfying the power requirements of Federal entities. Before joining Apex, he created and was the first executive director of the Department of Defense Siting Clearinghouse—the "one-stop shop" for industry and Federal, State, and local government agencies to ensure utility-scale renewable energy and transmission projects are compatible with military operations and installations.
A retired Air Force colonel, Dave commanded a squadron, a group, and a wing, earned two Bronze Stars, and served as installation commander for Nellis AFB, Creech AFB, and the 2.9-million-acre Nevada Test and Training Range—where he worked with business and civic organizations throughout the Southwest to help promote energy independence while protecting military training and testing venues. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and three master's degrees (in business administration, airpower arts and sciences, and national security strategy), and is a candidate for the Doctor of Liberal Studies degree at Georgetown University. He has appeared on Top Chef: Las Vegas (when the chefs came to Nellis AFB), and is a five-time Jeopardy! champion.
