Ron Stimmel has been involved in the clean energy sector for more than ten years, beginning his career as a lobbyist for the wind energy industry in Washington, D.C. where he formed the advocacy, research, and PR strategy for the U.S. distributed wind power industry.
After founding a renewable energy project finance advisory while earning his MBA, Ron joined Amazon where he now manages the renewable energy strategy for Amazon’s global operations. Ron has represented Amazon on a subcommittee of Washington Governor Jay Inslee’s Climate Task Force to create recommendations for climate change legislation in the state, alongside other members of the business community, and sits on the Board of Advisors of an energy efficiency financing startup.
Ron has appeared or been quoted in 300+ TV, radio, and print features including NY Times, NPR, CNN, and The Wall St. Journal as expert in wind energy policy and markets. In 2015 Ron was also selected as a member of Harvard University’s inaugural Young American Leaders Program to promote U.S. competitiveness.
Ron holds a BA in Government from Georgetown and an MBA from Columbia.
