Environmental Business Cluster The Environmental Business Cluster (EBC) is a cleantech incubator located in the heart of the Silicon Valley. Founded in 1994 by the City of San Jose and the San Jose State University Research Foundation, the EBC has assisted over 150 companies since inception. The Sustainable Business Institute The Sustainable Business Institute encourages business leaders to adopt and communicate sustainable business practices. Program highlights include the Sustainable Business User Group (SBUG), hosted by business leaders to facilitate learning, teaching, supporting, and networking opportunities amongst internal stakeholders interested in implementing sustainable business practices, and the Seal of Sustainability (SOS), presented to companies demonstrating stellar sustainable business practices by Congress in the Capitol. Both programs have built a credibility and brand over years, where cross industry companies have hosted SBUGs and/or applied for the SOS.
